Guest Post: Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles

Posted by on Jun 21, 2013 in Blog, GAPS, Kids, Low Oxalate, photo, Recipe | 0 comments

Today I have a guest post from Starlene of GAPS Diet Journey. Starlene and I have been on GAPS for about the same amount of time and have become friends. She has a fantastic book full of GAPS legal recipes called Beyond Grain and Dairy as well as a book about Baking with Coconut Flour and her newest book of deserts called Everybody Loves Pudding. Not only are all of her recipes grain free and GAPS legal but they are also all diary free as well. I’m sure you will love this simple and festive looking recipe. I have not calculated the oxalate content for each popsicle but the only ingredient to be worried about at all is the Strawberries. Since they are just a small part of this small treat my estimation is that each of these popsicles is quite...

Guest Post: 3 Shortcuts to Making Bone Broth

Posted by on Jun 19, 2013 in Blog, photo, Recipe | 2 comments

Today’s Guest post is from KerryAnn of Cooking Traditional Foods. As you know broth is a pretty important subject around here. I love it so much that I wrote a book about it! Broth: Elixir of Life. KerryAnn spends time today explaining the pros and cons of 3 broth making methods that can help you to always have broth on hand in your kitchen. Since it is summer my current favorite method is with my 10 qt pressure cooker since it is done so quickly and doesn’t heat up the kitchen. Enjoy! -PattyLA Many of my blog posts contain affiliate links. Purchasing through an affiliate link allows me to keep blogging and sharing what I learn with you. Today’s post is a guest post from Sarah of Nourished and Nurtured. It is another one in my ongoing series about the importance of love for yourself and your family in the midst of the hard work of healing. Today is focused on how can mama get her needs met while caring for young children. I love her idea for playing hide and seek. I may need to do that one soon with my own two children. -PattyLA Many of my blog posts contain affiliate links. Quick and Easy Sage Sausage Scramble

Posted by on Jun 11, 2013 in Blog, GAPS, Kids, Low Oxalate, photo, Recipe | 2 comments

This quick and easy recipe can be used in all stages of GAPS. It can be used on intro stage 1 if you leave out the sage and use enough broth so that the meat doesn’t brown and stays soupy. I like to make this from ground chicken to mix up the meats that we are eating for breakfast but really any ground meat will work. I often forget to thaw my ground chicken and this cooks just fine from frozen although it takes a bit longer. This is also an excellent way to sneak some veggies and broth into family members who are reluctant to eat them for breakfast. If your family will balk at seeing bits of veggies in their sausage puree up the squash and broth and carefully mix it with the ground meat before cooking (use...
